Where the numbers come from: the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency publishes counts of licensed and SORN vehicles by model name each year, and each quarter since 2014. AutoCensus resolves each Cherokee model entry to a generation and publishes the result; this site caches it and shows it here.
